Recognition reflects Cognizant’s end-to-end AI assurance coverage and platform-led approach to agentic quality engineering
October 26, 2026 – Cognizant (NASDAQ: CTSH) today announced it has been positioned as a Leader in the Everest Group Quality Engineering (QE) Services for AI Applications and Systems PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2026. The assessment evaluated 40 service providers on market impact and vision and capability, with Cognizant named among nine providers recognized as Leaders.
As enterprises embed AI across customer-facing applications, business processes, and core technology platforms, quality engineering is expanding well beyond traditional application testing. Because AI systems behave probabilistically and depend on context, organizations must now validate data quality, model behavior, output consistency, and runtime reliability, and guard against risks such as hallucination, bias, model drift, and unpredictable agent behavior. Everest Group estimates the global quality engineering services market reached US$82–84 billion in 2025, with QE for AI systems and applications accounting for 8–10% of that total.
Everest Group highlighted Cognizant’s coverage across data, models, generative AI and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) applications, multi-agent systems, responsible AI, security, performance, resilience, and production observability, delivered through its TRUST framework and AI Lifecycle Assurance (AILA) toolkit. The report also cited Cognizant’s suitability for platform-led agentic QE, backed by Flowsource™, Neuro® SAN, and the QE Agentic Hub, which orchestrate reusable agents across test planning, design, execution, analysis, defect management, and reporting. Everest Group further noted Cognizant’s ecosystem spanning automation platforms, hyperscalers, foundation models, AI observability, synthetic data, and performance engineering, as well as its strong presence in healthcare and life sciences.
“As enterprises move AI from experimentation to scaled production, quality engineering is evolving beyond traditional testing to address the probabilistic, dynamic, and increasingly autonomous nature of AI systems. This is driving demand for assurance approaches that combine reliability, responsible AI, security, resilience, and continuous monitoring across the AI lifecycle,” says Ankit Gupta, Vice President at Everest Group. “Cognizant emerges as a Leader in Everest Group’s Quality Engineering (QE) Services for AI Applications and Systems PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2026, supported by its broad assurance capabilities across generative AI, RAG, and multi-agent systems, along with its platform-led approach to agentic QE. Its AILA (AI Lifecycle Assurance) toolkit, complemented by assets such as Flowsource™ and Neuro® SAN, strengthens its ability to deliver scalable and increasingly autonomous AI assurance.”
“Enterprises are moving AI into the core of how they operate, and the trust that makes it possible has to be engineered in from the start,” said Rajesh Varrier, President – Operations, Cognizant. “Quality engineering is how we help clients scale AI with confidence, by validating data, models, and agents continuously rather than only at release. This recognition reflects the work our teams are doing alongside clients to build assurance directly into their engineering environments, and we expect to keep investing in the platforms, talent, and partnerships that make AI dependable at enterprise scale.”
