Cognizant Joins Forces with FourBlock, Furthers Commitment to Veteran Hires

As an ongoing part of its commitment to veterans re-entering the workforce, Cognizant has teamed up with FourBlock, an organization focused on Veteran Career Development.

As a part of its relationship, Cognizant conducted a Career Readiness Training in its office in Tampa, Florida on March 14th focused on Building a Master Resume. The event was attended by more than 30 student veterans and 20 Cognizant employees, including former veterans from across the company. Cognizant will follow up with Creating a Target Resume training in its Tampa office on April 11th.

“We are excited to work with FourBlock to help prepare student veterans for their transition to the workforce,” said Jim Lennox, Chief People Officer, Cognizant. “As a Military Friendly® employer, we know the value and skills veterans bring to an organization. Empowering vets to translate those skills into their civilian careers is rewarding not only for us, but also for them. Leadership, discipline, teamwork, and commitment are just a few of the traits that veterans bring to their roles in the private sector.”

Equipping veterans with the tools needed to develop their professional foundations, FourBlock partners with Fortune 500 companies and top universities across the country to provide a semester-long, university accredited program centered on Career Readiness. In addition to providing valuable educational opportunities, the program also gives veterans the ability to develop a network with other veterans and professionals.
