TEANECK, N.J., Nov. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Cognizant (NASDAQ: CTSH) today announced it has been named to the "Winner's Circle" in the new HfS Blueprint Report: Internet of Things (IoT) 2016. This is the second consecutive year Cognizant has been recognized as one of the foremost IoT service providers by HfS Research, a leading independent global analyst firm for the business and IT services industry.
The newly released Blueprint Report on IoT analyzes the capabilities of 17 major service providers and cites Cognizant's strategic and future vision for the IoT, as well as its partner ecosystem, collaboration techniques, account management and delivery methods. Each company is rated on a number of criteria in equally weighted categories of innovation and execution. Those named to the 'Winner's Circle' are defined by HfS as those who "show competitive differentiation in a particular line of delivery with progress in realizing the as-a-service economy of business outcome-oriented, on-demand talent and technology services."
Winner's Circle providers are also characterized as having "collaborative relationships with clients, services executed with a combination of talent and technology as appropriate, and flexible arrangements."
According to the Blueprint Report, Cognizant has IoT services that fit into a broader digital vision and "next-gen IT enterprise follow-through with strong entrepreneurial drive." The report cites other specific strengths and capabilities regarding Cognizant's approach to IoT and client services, including:
Strong execution driven by strong strategic vision – Cognizant has a strong IoT vision globally, with a CEO who has "good digital DNA" to continue evolving the business.
Digital structure that fosters rapid contextual IoT development – Cognizant continues to operate IoT as a hub amid spokes of other technology and strategy services (e.g. cloud applications, mobility, security services, business analytics, content management, design, and digital strategy advisory), capitalizing on expertise from across the company.
Flexible financial and partnering approach – Cognizant has acquired strategy companies and operates "Collaboratory" locations worldwide to drive innovation and help clients realize "the art of the possible," evolving IoT concepts into completed client solutions to business problems.
Account management reputation – Cognizant is agile, working closely with clients at all project stages and leveraging a strong account management culture. Cognizant brings a disciplined approach in successfully blending the new digital with the old IT infrastructure – a common challenge in the dynamic IoT space, according to HfS.
"IoT is a buyer's market today, but service providers like Cognizant that have the capability to envision – and bring to life – new ways of creating value from digital innovation are recognized as the partners of choice," said Oliver Marks, Vice President, Digital and IoT, HfS Research. "Cognizant is among the few service providers who have the structure, vision and entrepreneurial drive to bridge multiple competencies like business/digital strategy, mobility, cloud, user experience, analytics, and security into a blended agile team to give clients the ability to realize and succeed with their IoT projects."
"Billions of connected 'things,' massive amounts of data, and innovative business models are bringing the Internet of Things to life," said Gajen Kandiah, President, Cognizant Digital Business. "We're in the early days of the true IoT revolution as intelligent product ideas are now moving from consumer conveniences into our most significant industries – banking, insurance, healthcare, and so on. Clients from every industry are grappling with how to unlock the value of the IoT. Cognizant's managed innovation process allows us to take the best ideas from the drawing board to prototype and then to enterprise scale. We're thrilled that HfS has recognized Cognizant's current ability to design and build IoT solutions for clients. On behalf of our clients and our team, we are honored that HfS has awarded us with the Winner's Circle designation for the second consecutive year."
