Computable, Netherlands: Cognizant’s AVP, Emerging Business Accelerator, Says IT Leaders Must Help Organizations Use Data Generated by AI for Better Decision-Making and Business Insights

“Adoption of AI (Artificial Intelligence) is continuing apace”, says Bart van der Mark. “In a recent survey of business leaders, we found that around a third of companies are already using “software robots” in business processes to enhance efficiency and lower costs. These processes can include loan applications in banking, claims adjudication for insurers, accounts payable and invoicing for finance, as well as traditional technology processes like infrastructure services, information management, and quality assurance testing in application implementation.” Excerpts:

“We define AI as “systems that think and learn”, augmenting human capabilities. AI is about systems that learn, undertaking tasks and solving problems independently, learning from a human way of thinking to understand data and context, using analytics to support flexible decision-making. As a result, AI generates a wealth of data that can be used for process optimization and analytics.

AI improves many sophisticated processes to enhance accuracy and compliance, is easily expandable, provides lower and more flexible costing and speeds up processing and time to market.

IT leaders will need to be able to navigate the very dynamic and extensive landscape in the area of robotics and AI, while the IT organization and various separate parts of their business and operations will work much more in tandem.

IT managers can help the organizations use data generated by AI for better decision-making and business insights.”
