Global Head of Cognizant Application Services Named a Winner of IDG Computerworld’s Premier 100 Technology Leaders Award

Praveen Desai, Global Head, Cognizant Application Services, was named a winner of IDG Computerworld’s Premier 100 Technology Leaders Award. These awards honor individuals who have had a positive impact on their organization through technology. Honored individuals manage internal IT organizations, mentor and motivate their IT teams with interesting challenges, envision innovative solutions to business problems and effectively manage and execute IT strategies.

“I have focused on enabling innovation within the team by removing barriers and tapping into the technical talent and creative energy in our group,” Desai is quoted as saying in the Meet the 2016 Premier 100 feature, when asked how he finds time to innovate. “I constantly challenge the status quo, thereby creating an environment of opportunity and innovation.”

On how he evaluates emerging technologies, Desai says, “Our technology lab plays a key role in staying in tune with ever-changing trends and experimenting with them for their readiness for enterprise deployment. The adoption of lean startup principles helps build a minimally viable product to test and thereby reduce risks for early adopters.”
