Cognizant Deploys a Comprehensive Hospital Performance Management Solution at Hunterdon Healthcare
Cognizant Leverages InterSystems DeepSee™ to Help Hunterdon Enhance Operational Efficiencies, and Improve Care Quality and Patient Satisfaction

TEANECK, N.J., Feb. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cognizant (NASDAQ: CTSH), a leading provider of information technology, consulting, and business process outsourcing services, today announced that it has deployed a comprehensive Hospital Performance Management (HPM) solution at Hunterdon Healthcare, a non-profit health care organization.

The HPM solution leverages InterSystems DeepSee™ embedded real-time analytics technology to enable a seamless flow of information from multiple administrative, financial, and clinical IT systems and data repositories used by Hunterdon. The HPM solution delivers real-time business analytics and decision support to help Hunterdon improve safety and quality of care delivery, enhance operational efficiencies, and optimize resource utilization and hospital throughput. It also enables Hunterdon to systematically measure, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), rapidly analyze data, and identify trends and new business opportunities.

"Our technology environment includes a range of applications from multiple vendors," said Glenn Mamary, Vice President and CIO at Hunterdon Healthcare. "The HPM solution developed by Cognizant using InterSystems DeepSee™ provides accurate, complete information on KPIs in real-time, effectively addressing our need for smooth integration to support connected care. The solution leverages our existing investment in InterSystems CACHE® database system and Ensemble® rapid development and integration platform to unlock the knowledge hidden in silos of data throughout the organization, and allows us to use interactive dashboards to monitor real-time data with complete transparency."

"Hunterdon has been a leader for years in using the best IT capabilities available to enable cost-effective, quality care delivery to its patients," said Paul Grabscheid, Vice President of Strategic Planning at InterSystems. "The DeepSee-based HPM rollout across the Hunterdon enterprise is the latest example of how our advanced technology can be leveraged to create a more connected healthcare system."

"We are committed to helping Hunterdon leverage actionable intelligence about patient safety and satisfaction, outcome patterns, and financial performance into timely and informed strategic decisions," said Krish Venkat, Executive Vice President and Global Leader of Cognizant's Healthcare practice. "The HPM solution enables Hunterdon to combine the power of data analytics, real-time online processing, and reporting services to systematically measure, track, and share performance indicators, and correlate data among those indicators across the organization. The customized, interactive dashboards, reports, KPIs, and visualizations delivered by the solution help Hunterdon monitor performance goals, enhance regulatory compliance, optimize supply chain processes, and gain foresight into potential business and clinical issues."
