Computerworld, Norway: Cognizant’s Country Client Partner for Norway Says the Convergence of Technology Constructs is Making Intelligent Holograms Tick

“Mixed reality seems to have a magnetism that draws people, and adding holograms to the digital mix could prove an effective tool,” says Matthias Peter. “In the world of politics, some have successfully started to use this up-and-coming technology to address live audiences in multiple places at the same time.” Excerpts:

“Imagine Prime Minister Erna Solberg, Ap-leader Jonas Gahr Støre or any of the other political leaders displaying holograms of their speeches across the country in Town Halls, People’s Houses — or even in shopping malls or cinemas.

This could significantly increase their audience reach, as holography merges the real world and the digital world.

That kind of presence could turn out to be a winning formula in the upcoming election.

The concept of intelligent holograms has always been around as part of Sci-fi, but what is really making it tick is the convergence of certain technology constructs.

Mixed reality headsets for holographic consumption are maturing quickly, even making hologram viewing portable. Capturing 3D information on special cameras that recognize depth perception is helping the initial capture of subjects while sensors around us are capturing the demographic and environmental data around us.

Once the availability of hyper-scale processing power and large bandwidth is added, this convergence will make holograms an everyday reality.”
