The Economic Times: Cognizant CEO Talks About Industry Trends and Demand Scenario

D’Souza adds, “The real story of what’s happening in our industry is the fact that we have these secular shifts going on with our clients and there are other big trends – social, mobile, analytics and cloud. These two big forces are impacting clients. And what that means from a Cognizant standpoint is it is no longer business as usual. You should be able to relate to the client on an industry basis, on a management consulting basis.”

Cognizant continues to focus on small acquisitions, says D’Souza. “But that gets a little bigger as Cognizant becomes bigger. We want to continue focusing on acquisitions that would bring us into new geographies, bring us into new industries and deepen our penetration in existing industries or broaden a service offering,” he explains.
