Computerworld: Cognizant Recognized as a 2013 Computerworld Honors Laureate
Cognizant was recognized as a 2013 Computerworld Honors Laureate in the Innovation category for developing the technology to detect different types of diseases at early stages by using image pattern recognition techniques. The company’s current project work focuses on disease detection in cotton leaves as well as skin diseases in humans.
The Computerworld Honors Program, now in its 25th year, recognizes organizations that use information technology to promote and advance the public welfare, benefit society and business, and change the world for the better.
“This year’s 267 Laureates are that rare group with the ability to recognize problems and the courage to take bold steps to solve them,” wrote Computerworld. “They are an inspiring reminder that great things can happen when determined people explore technology's full potential.”
