“We reported a solid first quarter and we have stuck to our guidance of at least 16.5% for the full year,” says R. Chandrasekaran. “Everything is going as expected. Our portfolio of businesses augurs well. If you look at our services mix, geographies, and business lines, our business is pretty rock solid."

He adds, "We saw some delayed start to outsourcing engagements, but those will start ramping up in Q2 of this year. We continue to see a healthy demand for our SMAC stack services and other large development projects that help clients transform their businesses. We see a healthy demand environment for our business through the rest of the year."

He notes, "We continue to monitor the situation around the US immigration bill and continue to work with policymakers in Washington. We are hoping that in whatever form the immigration reform bill comes out, it will not hurt the industry and will be good for our customers.”
