ET Now: Executive Vice Chairman of Cognizant India Says the Company is Bullish About Demand and Growth

“We are very pleased with the way 2013 turned out,” says R. Chandrasekaran. “More importantly, many of our initial approaches have been validated. We generated over $500 million revenues through SMAC services. We penetrated newer geographies like Latin America and newer verticals like government.”

He adds, “We expect the demand and good run to continue in 2014. In fact, our 2014 guidance is slightly more than what we had guided to at the beginning of 2013. In absolute dollar terms, our incremental revenue in 2014 will be significantly higher than that in 2013. Overall, we are pleased with the demand for our services.”

According to Chandrasekaran, the company is pretty bullish about the demand. “Many of our customers are looking to transform their businesses,” he notes. “We are seeing a once-in-a-decade opportunity driven by a shift in technology. Many of our customers are thinking of transforming their businesses to digital businesses leveraging SMAC technologies. Many of the CEOs are talking about technology as an important part of their strategy. They are talking about the Internet-of-things, 3D printing, and machine-to-machine communication. All these things are going to create significant opportunities for services companies such as Cognizant.”
