Cognizant adds new regional leaders across its Global Growth Markets

Cognizant announced a new regional leadership team to drive its international growth strategy. The appointed leaders will oversee six newly created regions comprised of the twelve sub-regions that make up Cognizant’s Global Growth Markets (GGM).

The regional leaders will focus on driving better alignment across countries and deliver a more engaging experience for clients. They are responsible for all aspects of Cognizant’s operations in the region, including strategic planning, commercial development, and client delivery. Three of the newly appointed regional leaders have been promoted from their current roles:

  • Rohit Gupta is now Senior Vice President of the United Kingdom & Ireland (UK&I) region. Gupta, an 18-year Cognizant veteran, previously ran the Products & Resources vertical in the UK&I.
  • Jane Livesey is now Senior Vice President of the Asia Pacific region. Livesey joined Cognizant in 2020 to lead the Australia and New Zealand business.
  • Gagan Syal is now Vice President of the Southern Europe and Middle East region. Syal has led Cognizant’s Health Sciences international business for the past 10 years.

The three other regions will continue to be led by the existing market leaders: the Central Europe region will be led by Armin Strauss; Shinji Murakami will lead the Japan region, and the Northern Europe region, which includes Nordics region, Belgium, and The Netherlands, will be led by Anne-Sofie Risåsen, Geert Lejon and Saket Gulati, respectively.

These regional leaders report to Rob Walker, president of Global Growth Markets. Walker was promoted into his role in June 2022 to help accelerate growth outside of North America.

“Much of Cognizant’s market opportunity for digital services is in our Global Growth Markets, and we continue to make good progress towards executing against our strategic plan to globalize the company. The new regional structure will enhance our clients and partner engagement globally, as well as drive deeper collaboration across our teams around the world. I am confident that we have the right leaders in place to execute our vision for accelerating Cognizant’s growth internationally,” said Walker.
