Cognizant in the News

Dallas Business Journal, US: Cognizant’s Chief Financial Officer says New Delivery Center in Irving, Texas will Bring More Skilled Jobs and Training to the Area

“We’re very happy to be expanding in the Irving market,” said Karen McLoughlin. “Our new delivery center will not only bring 1,100 new jobs over the next five years, but our expanded presence will also bring skills training to the area through our partnership with Per Scholas.” Excerpts:

“Cognizant officially opened the doors to its Dallas-Irving Regional Technology and Service Delivery Center on Wednesday, marking the occasion with a ribbon cutting ceremony that included remarks from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Irving Mayor Rick Stopfer, McLoughlin and others.

Irving is an ideal location to expand because Cognizant serves many Fortune 500 and 1000 clients in the Dallas-Fort Worth market, McLoughlin said. The area also has a relatively deep pool of tech talent and a strong system of colleges and universities, she added.

Cognizant has a large skills training program that focuses on teaching in-demand skills needed for digital economy jobs. The company also recruits heavily from colleges and universities and other businesses, McLoughlin said.

‘Our intention would be to hire a very large portion of that workforce once they have completed the training,’ McLoughlin said. ‘We work very hard to really develop technology talent for our clients and for ourselves.’”
