CHEFBURO, Germany: Cognizant’s AVP, Center for the Future of Work Discusses Factors for Creating an Innovative Workspace

“The big tech players already know this: clever interior design promotes innovation and creativity,” says Euan Davis. “In the future, this trend will intensify.” Excerpts:

“A new study by Cognizant shows that despite the increase in virtual activities, the physical workspace is more important than ever. The study conducted by 500 European executives Space Matters: Shaping the Workplace to Get the Right Work Done emphasizes that investing in efficient and effective jobs today is essential to achieving business goals.

European companies are seeking to redesign their workspaces to improve operations and to accommodate increasingly digital tools and technologies. The study shows that the work environment is increasingly seen as a way to focus employees on the work that really matters. Davis recommends executives consider the following aspects when reshaping sustainable jobs:

  1. Do not make workplaces play areas.
  2. Focus on structural change to improve teamwork.
  3. Establish competency cluster workspaces.
  4. Continuously reconcile of innovation and location.
  5. Use visual cues to convey strong cultural

'Future, intelligent work environments will monitor the personal work environment and respond to the mood, wishes and needs of the workers. Properly designed workplaces can set groundbreaking productivity and innovation incentives needed by any business that wants to be successful in the digital age.’”
