Cognizant Receives Celebrate Business Award

Cognizant has received the Celebrate Business Award by the Greater Des Moines (Iowa) Partnership.

For the last 35 years, the Greater Des Moines Partnership has presented Economic Impact Awards to companies in the region that have made a substantial economic impact to greater Des Moines. Assessing new companies to the region over the past year, as well as those companies who have expanded operations, Partnership staff selects award recipients based on such factors as the number of new jobs for the region, the size of the new or expanded buildings and facilities, and the capital investment made by each contending company. Cognizant was selected for its commitment to create 1,000 new jobs in the area, which is the largest new job commitment that the Des Moines metro area has seen in the last five years.

In 2016, Cognizant announced plans to bring a mix of call center and back-office support positions to Des Moines over the next five years with approximately 100 of the positions qualifying for Iowa’s High Quality Jobs program. With the expansion, Cognizant will become one of the 20 largest employers in the Des Moines metro area.
