Consulting Magazine Names Cognizant Associates Among “2022 Women Leaders in Consulting”

Sept 21, 2022, Cognizant associates Nisha Shankar and Tara Whitehead Stotland have been named to Consultant Magazine’s 2022 Women Leaders in Consulting annual list. They are among an elite group of 43 winners cited as standout female professionals in the consulting industry.  

Honorees were selected in six distinct categories: Diversity Champion, Excellence in Client Service, Excellence in Leadership, Future Leaders, Lifetime Achievement and Mentor of the Year. 

Nisha Shankar, Assistant Vice President, Banking and Financial Services, Consulting in Canada, was honored in the ‘Diversity Champion’ category. Consulting Magazine recognized Shankar’s contributions in driving D&I specific firm-wide L&D programs for Cognizant associates, including leading hiring manager trainings and chairing various D&I focused panels.  In addition to her leadership in BFS consulting, she is the founder of Cognizant Women in Consulting (CWiC), the Global Diversity and Inclusion Head for Consulting, and on the Board Committee for March of Dimes Canada, a not-for-profit that champions equity and empowerment for people with disabilities.

“I am truly honored to be selected by Consulting Magazine as a female leader in consulting,” Shankar said. I hope this nomination inspires other women in consulting to be bold, challenge the norms and to truly believe that there are no limits to what they can achieve.”

Tara Whitehead Stotland, Assistant Vice President, Strategy and Sales Enablement - Consulting, was recognized for ‘Excellence in Leadership.’  Whitehead Stotland leads Cognizant’s Women Empowered Sell Council and was highlighted for her contributions to mentorship and community programs.  

Whitehead Stotland said, “Words cannot describe how honored I am to receive a Consulting Magazine Female Excellence in Leadership Award. I hope this recognition will inspire my peers, my mentees, and my wider network to advise clients to help solve their most vexing problems.”

Winners will be celebrated at a gala dinner on Nov. 3 in New York City.
