KOLKATA, November 15, 2022 – Cognizant today announced the opening of its newest state-of-the-art facility located in Kolkata, West Bengal. The facility was inaugurated by Brian Humphries, Chief Executive Officer, Cognizant along with Rajesh Nambiar, Chairman and Managing Director, Cognizant India, in the presence of senior leaders and associates from the company.

Located in Infospace Tech Park C-3, the new facility is spread across eight floors, 250,000 square feet and can seat up to 3,000 associates. Designed to support greater location flexibility, the facility features modern, vibrant workspaces that provide an agile and collaborative work environment. It also features dedicated innovation spaces that enable associates to work on diverse areas, including, robotic automation, retail point-of-sale solutions and connected business platforms enabled by AI, ML, and IoT.

Cognizant first began operations in Kolkata in 1996 and has over 18,300 associates based in the city. Today, with more than 27.5 percent women representation in Kolkata, the company continues to expand its diverse talent base in the state and upskill their capabilities in digital technologies to serve its clients globally. As part of Cognizant’s commitment to give back to communities, the company has also partnered with a majority of colleges in the region to conduct skilling programs, technical workshops, seminars and faculty development programs.

The opening marks the company’s fourth facility in the country to support hybrid work as it transitions to this work model by 2023. Earlier this year, Cognizant opened similar facilities in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kochi.
