Cognizant Announces Leadership Promotions with Formation of New Integrated Practice Areas

Cognizant today announced the promotions of Anna Elango and Rob Vatter to lead the newly formed practice areas of Core Technologies & Insights, and Enterprise Platform Services, respectively. They both join Cognizant’s Executive Committee, reporting directly to Cognizant CEO Brian Humphries.

The promotions accompanied Cognizant’s announcement of an evolution in its organizational structure that is part of the company’s ongoing strategy to shift toward delivering client business outcomes aligned by industry.  With the structural change, Cognizant is merging its Digital Business & Technology (DB&T) and Digital Business Operations (DBO) practice areas with their respective delivery organizations.  The move creates four new integrated practices:

  • Software & Platform Engineering (led by Andy Stafford);
  • Core Technologies & Insights (led by Anna Elango);
  • Enterprise Platform Services (led by Rob Vatter), and
  • Intuitive Operations & Automation (led by Ganesh Ayyar).

This evolution in Cognizant’s organizational model evolution simplifies its internal operating structure to even better serve to clients, enabling best in class offerings and capabilities, and providing Cognizant employees with additional opportunities for career growth.

Rajesh Nambiar, who had been assisting as lead for DB&T, will re-assume the role of EVP, Chairman and Managing Director of Cognizant India, the role for which he was hired. He remains a member of the Executive Committee and will focus on leading Cognizant’s 240,000+ associates in India, as well as enhancing Cognizant’s relationships with government and key policy-making bodies in India.
