Cognizant Wins the Bronze Stevie Award for Our COVID Response in India
Cognizant has won the International Business Award’s Bronze Stevie Award for Most Valuable Corporate Response for Operation C3: Cognizant Combats COVID-19. The Stevie Awards honor the achievements of organizations and the people behind them to recognize outstanding performances in the workplace worldwide.
This award recognizes Cognizant’s swift and aggressive initiative dedicated to helping the country and its people overcome this humanitarian crisis. More than 3,700 nominations from organizations across industries industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including, a number of categories to recognize organizations’ and individuals’ responses to the pandemic.
Through Operation C3, Cognizant immediately provided $1.5 million through the Cognizant Foundation to operationalize response efforts with its partners across India. Cognizant also provided an additional $2 million in emergency funding to UNICEF in India to help address acute shortages in life-saving oxygen and critical medical and testing supplies. These efforts focused on three primary areas:
- Supporting COVID care facilities
- Supplementing oxygen supplies to address the acute shortage
- Providing access to vaccinations
“What we’ve seen in this year’s IBA nominations is that organizations around the world, in every sector, have continued to innovate and succeed, despite the setbacks, obstacles and tragedies of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” said Stevie Awards president Maggie Gallagher. “All of this year’s Stevie Award winners are to be applauded for their persistence and their resilience.
