“This year, we have added over 14,200 employees to our headcount, both through campuses and laterally, with campus hires forming a large subset of this total,” said Suresh Bethavandu. “We continue to visit and engage with all the [Indian Institutes of Technology] IITs and [National Institutes of Technology] NITs and will add the new IITs to this list, based on business demands.” Excerpts:  

“Artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), deep learning and data analysis are among the most wanted profiles at the IITs this year. Recruiters are lining up at the premier engineering schools for such niche tech talent in this year’s placement season, which is to kick off in a week’s time for the class graduating in 2019.

Initial trends from the engineering campuses indicate 20-40% rise in demand for these profiles from last year, according to the five leading IITs. It’s just not tech firms that are queueing up. Non-tech ones are also scouting for and recruiting talent with these profiles.”
