Cognizant Expands its Presence in the Industrial and Manufacturing Hub of Germany

Cognizant has announced the expansion of its European operations with the opening of a new delivery centre in Duisburg, Germany.  Supporting the increasing demand for Cognizant’s digital business, operations, and systems and technology services, the new centre provides Cognizant with greater proximity to clients in the North Rhine-Westphalia industrial and manufacturing hub of Germany.

Cognizant’s expanded presence in Germany will enhance its operations, enabling a growing roster of local, regional and global clients to further leverage the Company’s technical and business capabilities, deep local insights and domain expertise as well as language and time zone advantages. The location will deliver a broad range of services to the region’s leading industries, including life sciences, manufacturing and logistics, and consumer goods companies.  Klöckner & Co, one of the world’s largest producer-independent distributors of steel and metal products and a Cognizant client since 2016, will be one of the first clients to benefit from the new location with its ability to meet Klockner’s future digital and analytics requirements.

“With the opening of its second delivery centre in Duisburg, Cognizant continues to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to the region. A global powerhouse and strategic partner for us, Cognizant is creating attractive and sustainable employment opportunities here in Duisburg for a young and modern generation of workers,” said Marcus Ketter, CFO, Klöckner & Co. “We have been working closely - and above all, successfully - with Cognizant on our digitisation strategy since the end of 2016. Cognizant’s worldwide delivery centre network and extensive IT capabilities are very important and provides us with current, "best-in-class" IT security and data protection standards. We look forward to a continuing, fruitful partnership.”

“Located in the heart of Germany’s industrial corridor, we are pleased to open our second location in Duisburg,” said Manoj Mehta, Senior Vice President and Head of Benelux and Germany. “The new location supports our clients’ digital agendas, enables greater operational efficiencies, and provides an integrated backbone for future digital offerings. We look forward to strengthening our presence in the region while expanding our services portfolio and delivering transformational programs that help our clients build stronger, more agile and innovate businesses.”

The new, state-of-the-art delivery centre will add additional capacity to Cognizant’s delivery of application, IT infrastructure, consulting, and business process services.  The centre will support Cognizant’s local client base, providing them with flexible and scalable resources needed for their digital transformation journeys and will facilitate seamless interactions between client locations and Cognizant’s global delivery centres, including those in Germany, Switzerland, France and the United Kingdom.

The delivery centre was opened on 28 May at an event hosted by Manoj Mehta and Marcus Ketter.
