In Barron’s first annual listing of the most sustainable companies, Cognizant ranks at number 16 out of 100.
Tailored to investor interests, with societal contributions continuing to grow in interest, and taking into consideration investment risk and performance, the ranking is based on five categories: shareholders, employees, customers, planet, and community. Coupled together, many investors believe these factors to be the measure of a company’s long-term health and growth. Cognizant is listed alongside such companies as Cisco, Salesforce, Target, Starbucks, UPS and others.
Partnering with Calvert Research and Management, Barron’s sustainability list was compiled by first examining the 1,000 largest publicly held companies by market value and then evaluating 300 key performance indicators for each company.
