Cognizant CEO Honored by New York Hall of Science
The New York Hall of Science recently honored Cognizant President & CEO Francisco D’Souza with its Distinguished Leadership Award, an acknowledgement of his dedication and commitment to scientific and technical training, and the application of technology to Science and Education.
Speaking to an audience of business, social, philanthropic, technology and science leaders at the awards ceremony, Frank praised the New York Hall of Science for its sponsorship of the Science Career Ladder program. Frank also noted the importance of focusing attention and resources on the recruitment and development of talent around the world, not missing women or first generation college graduates or whole nations of talent that may have been left out of the workforce equation in the past.
"Personally, it’s a great honor for me to see these dreams fulfilled each day in my work at Cognizant, as our young workforce delivers world-class technology solutions to some of the world’s most sophisticated companies. It's work our employee’s parents often wouldn’t recognize, or wouldn’t have dreamed to achieve. But it’s now a growing reality in our flat, interconnected, and technology-centric world."
He added: "With our employees, I see that such personal growth and opportunity has to start with a spark. It’s that spark of both intellectual curiosity and opportunity, that was triggered somewhere in their youth. That moment of insight, where a new world of possibility can unfold."
The New York Hall of Science is New York City’s hands-on science and technology center. The Hall features more than 400 hands-on exhibits spanning biology, chemistry and physics.
