TransparentCareer, US, has ranked Cognizant among the top 7 consulting firms for MBA graduates. The list of top firms, which looks at the best options for grads in terms of compensation, average hours per week (work-life balance), satisfaction, and hiring volume, is based on data reported by MBA students and alumni at over 6,000 companies.

Cognizant Business Consulting, Cognizant’s consulting practice, ranked fourth with a composite score of 87 and average satisfaction score of 9/10. “Cognizant makes the ranking on the back of massive average satisfaction scores (38% higher than the all-industry average), and reasonable hours for graduated MBA consultants at ~45 per week,” wrote TransparentCareer.

All data points in the ranking are from MBA-related data, that is, internships or full-time jobs obtained during or as a result of pursuing an MBA.

Total compensation potential (20% weight) includes salary, performance bonus potential, signing bonus, stock compensation, and miscellaneous compensation. Hourly wage equivalent (20% weight) blends metric to capture base salary divided by hours worked per week on average for each company. Overall satisfaction (50% weight) is a user-reported metric based on “overall happiness” with a particular job. Percent of grads hired by company (10% weight) came from comparing the number of MBA grads employed at each firm to total number of consultants hired across TransparentCareer’s database of MBA users. Companies with few data points are not a part of the analysis.
