Mint: Cognizant’s Vice President of Human Resources Talks About the Use of Gamification in the Company’s HR Function

“The digital revolution and social technologies have transformed how the learning and development function addresses the learning needs of a globalized, millennial workforce,” says Satish Jeyaraman.

He informs that it has impacted about 140,000 Cognizant employees with well over 4.7 million e-learning hours. These virtual learning sessions and webinar events have grown by 120% this year compared with the previous year, reducing in-person classroom delivery by 15% and associated costs by around 50% year-over-year.

This, he adds, has catalyzed superior performance goals, improved process compliance, and facilitated faster and more effective learning.

“It is exciting to leverage the most advanced technologies in social and digital learning to enhance learning effectiveness and impact the underlying business goals,” says Jeyaraman.

Gamification, he adds, works best when applied in contexts that seamlessly complement the process or learning initiative, such that employees can connect to the concepts with little or no learning curve.
