“The growing usage of cloud testing among BFS (banking and financial services) firms will have significant impact on three fundamental areas: people, process and technology,” says Michael Rundshagen. Excerpts:

“BFS companies have been at the forefront of anticipating and adjusting to the changing technology trends.

As digital business is now mainstream, financial services organizations and banks have shifted their priorities from maintenance to developing and implementing new systems that drive revenue growth, launching new products and services to reach customers via new channels.

Whilst facilitating customer access across mobile, Internet and cloud channels, banks must also guarantee sensitive information is safeguarded across all touch-points.

Broadening the skills of their employees around automated tools and evolving business models that are DevOps-focused and digitally driven is a major imperative in the BFS space.

As the cloud proliferates and powers BFS digital transformation, cloud testing must become an obligation for winning organizations.

The role of Quality Assurance here is to deliver a seamless omnichannel experience to customers through device integration testing, channel interface validation, security and compliance testing, and service/network virtualization testing ― whether the customer is accessing the bank via a mobile, tablet or visiting a branch.

The center of a digital assurance strategy should, by necessity, focus on security, performance and compatibility of applications on digital platforms, followed by functional and user interface testing for mobile solutions.”
