Forbes: Cognizant on the Forbes Fast Tech 25 List for a Record Tenth Consecutive Year

Cognizant has made the Forbes Fast Tech 25 list yet again. In the annual Forbes ranking of the 25 fastest growing technology companies in 2011, Cognizant ranks 9th, up from 11th place in 2010. Notably, this is Cognizant’s record tenth-consecutive showing on the list. Cognizant is the only company to make the list every year since the list’s inception. 

In their report titled “The Forbes Fast Tech 25: Our Annual List of Growth Kings”, which appears in the May 21 issue of the magazine, Eric Savitz and Scott DeCarlo write: “All of them [companies on the list] have shown a remarkable ability to defy sales gravity. We combed more than 5,000 publicly traded technology companies, looking for profitable companies with a minimum revenue of $150 million and a minimum market value of $500 million. We then looked for firms with sales growth of at least 10% for each of the past three fiscal years and over the latest 12 months. We also required companies to have three-to-five-year estimated earnings-per-share growth rates greater than 10%. Finally, we ranked companies based on their three-year average sales growth rates. The list is a pretty good leading indicator of market outperformance.”
