CNBC US: Cognizant CEO Talks About Cognizant’s Work in the Healthcare Sector

“We had a terrific quarter we reported yesterday; we grew revenue close to 22% year over year. It was very strong top-line growth,” says Francisco D’Souza about Cognizant’s performance in the third quarter of 2013. “Growth was very broad-based. Our healthcare business did well. But all the other sectors did well too.”

Elaborating on Cognizant’s work in the healthcare space, D’Souza says, “Health insurance companies need to participate in a very complicated system of state exchanges and the federal exchange. Then, of course, they need to get ready for the additional volume, gear up operations for the additional members and the claims that will come with that. We are helping our payer clients with everything from planning their strategy around getting ready for health insurance exchanges all the way through to actual implementation and getting ready for the actual increase in the volume of work. We are talking about a tremendously complicated set of systems that need to get built here.”
